The house

A château where history has been written more than once

The Château d'Ormesson rises from the middle of an ornamental lake created in the seventeenth century. It has belonged to the same family for more than four centuries, and its owner has made an exception to welcome the club's guests.

Madame de Sévigné dined here. Racine and La Fontaine were received here. Jean d'Ormesson grew up here. Around it, sixty-six hectares of parkland inspired by the gardens of Le Nôtre. Film crews, now and then, set up their cameras here.

A travelling club

Forty-five thousand châteaux in France, one club. Each gathering takes place in a different house and is never repeated.

Whoever misses 7 November will not return to Ormesson with us.

The last gathering of the year

La Nuit d'Ormesson is the club's last gathering before New Year's Eve, which already has a waiting list.

For non-members, it is the last chance this season to see the club from the inside.
